APPEAL TO PENITANCE

The report of Mr. Sanjar.G. Umarov the chairman of "Sunshine Uzbekistan" Coalition on the second congress

Dear Friends! Compatriots!

Andijan has been divided yesterday and today by the bloody landmark. Uzbekistan, washed by the blood of the guiltless souls, will never be the same as before. Yes, cotton fields will turn white, water will murmur in the ditches, the whiteness of the snow will sparkle on the top of our mountains and sun will burn in the summer heat. But, something has turned in our souls and we will never be the same as before.

Let everyone try to look into our soul calmly and impartially. We have to do that. Early or later everyone must for one hour or two stop the everyday's run, because it will never end and give you respite.

And it is necessary to do it now, in these mournful and tragic days. In these days, when the present authority did not even announce the mourning for the guiltless people killed.

What do we want from life?

We want our children and our relatives to be healthy, have the future and live in a peaceful and prosperious country.

Otherwise, there is no sense in our day today, in money, if somebody had a chance to earn it a lot. Will the rich man be happy if his children will have substantial live's but in a foreign country or in the motherland but under the power of medieval obscurants?

The time has come for everybody to join who wants not a marionette, but the real democracy, freedom, respect to human rights, to inviolabillity of private property, reasonable, stimulating tax policy.

The time has come to join for everyone who had enough permissiveness of the executive power, toothless marionette Parliament and empty demagogy of the paid bureaucrats - "leaders" of the pocket political parties.

"Sunshine Coalition" - is not a political party. It doesn't pretend to be the final truth. It doesn't pretend to oneness. It defenetly knows that farmers, artisans, businessmen, intelligentsia, and workers are fed up with the time of current power's administration.

"Sunshine Coalition" - is a wide union of the healthy forces of society, that want themselves, but not under the guidance of "the wisest from the wisest," to respect and to greet all religions and views to build their own life and through it build a free, prosperous, and temporal country.

We know firmly that such people exist and not only among the exhausted farmers, the broken businessmen, teachers and doctors that are dragging out a miserable existence, but in the staff of the new Parliament, among functionaries, and among officials of the security structures.

Millions of Uzbekistanians who left their families and went to foreign countries to earn their daily bread, hundred thousands of people that are wearying despotism and waiting for the pittance at the day laborer's markets – it is the shame of the present power, but it is also our and your disaster and tragedy! And each of us, who kept the silence all these years, stood aside and thought: "My home is aside" is responsible for the life that we have today!

How and what should we do as a first step to feed the hungry men, give the opportunity to farmers and businessmen to earn, justly support teachers and doctors?!

"Sunshine Coalition" is working on solving these and many other sore points!

We don't want the declarative, we want an authentic and sincere friendship with our neighbors. Mutual understanding with great Russia, with free and powerful USA, with prosperous China, with progress aimed India, with brotherly Turkey, and with all who are interested in a prosperous, equal in rights, temporal and democratic Uzbekistan in its best demonstration, but at the same time having its own, unique coloring, respecting historical beginnings and soberly realizing not only strong but the weak sides, too.

Lets stop, calm down and think, lets rise from our knees! Not a small group of the functionaries of the executive power and even not a President, but we, citizens, the people – masters of this great, but long-suffering country, want and must start action! Civilized, constructive, calm, in the frame of constitution.
